The Al Read Show
The immortal Al Read, sausage maker from Salford, made his radio debut in 1950. His humorous 'pictures of life' were based on his working-class Lancashire experiences. His catchphrase was "Right Monkey!". Some of his programmes are available on a BBC Audio tape here
